Investor Education at Toron

Helping investors make good long-term decisions is the most important goal for the entire Toron team. For us that means taking the time to educate investors on the full spectrum of available investments and issues. The reason we make this effort is that more knowledgeable clients make good long-term clients – the more you know and understand the better partners we can be.

It’s important to realize that you are still part of the process of discretionary portfolio management – even though you don’t pick the stocks or the time to buy or sell. We act within the framework you set out. Every investment relationship at Toron begins with a full assessment of needs, goals, risk tolerance, current and future financial assets, and return requirements and expectations. This information forms the basis of your investment policy statement (IPS) and is reviewed and updated regularly. The IPS is the guiding document for any decisions regarding your portfolio.

Unfortunately investor education has become a synonym for investment marketing in the financial services industry. For Toron, newsletters, commentaries, client events, Night School, Women to Women are not about marketing - they are about making you a better investor. That’s just how we like to do business.
